Through Hope Centre Services Indigenous Support, we aim to promote awareness of Indigenous cultural issues and see people engaging in positive and fruitful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders within churches and the greater community.
We aim to empower Indigenous Australians to fulfill their God given purpose and vision by applying God's Word, ministry training, mentoring, networking and resourcing.
Our Indigenous Liaison Officer is Darryl Lingwoodock. Darryl is an Indigenous elder and member of the ACC National Indigenous Forum. This is the peak body for the ACC movement to strategise outreach into Indigenous communities across Australia. Darryl is also a member of the NAIDOC Brisbane committee [the National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee] which organises annual events to celebrate Indigenous culture and people across the state
Darryl and his wife, Edwina, work as chaplains for Aboriginal hostels and prisons across South East Queensland and serve on the Cultural Ministry leadership team at Hope Centre. They are also representatives for Alpha ‘Our Mob’ and Australians Together and deliver these courses through various church based groups and activities.
